"בשעה שבע בערב אמא שלי התקשרה אליו ואז כנראה מחבל ענה לה בטלפון ואמר 'שלום, קוראים לי מוחמד, אני הנהג פה בגדוד, אני מאוד מצטער הבן שלכם נהרג'. צעקות, אימה, שבר, לא ברור מה קרה, מה אמיתי. לקח לנו שעות להשיג את המפקדים שלו ובכלל שלא סגרו איתו את השבת הוא היה היחיד, להבין מה קורה, פשוט היינו אבודים, עד עכשיו לא יצרו איתנו קשר רשמי מהצבא".
