After many hours of uncertainty, my heroic grandmother at the age of 95 (!!!), and her caregiver Liane were rescued and miraculously survived the terrible massacre in their Kibbutz Kissufim after the house was sprayed with bullets by terrorists and set on fire.
It is impossible to understand at all what they went through yesterday. It was not perceived that the kibbutz that my late grandfather and she founded 72 years ago with their own hands was simply erased. That some of her neighbors and friends cried for hours for help but received no response.
Some of them were murdered, kidnapped or missing until this moment.
When we met she asked me with teary eyes if she would have to build a new house at her age and how it was possible that so many friends who had been by her side for years were murdered.
Why does she and many others like her have to go through this horrible nightmare?!
